Axe Racing aims to become the first carbon neutral bobsleigh team by the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina
The needs of bobsleigh are unique, requiring teams to travel all around the world, with many athletes and many tons of equipment. The sport itself also exists on artificially cooled concrete tracks. This means that the carbon footprint of any bobsleigh team can quickly add up.
To offset its Carbon footprint Axe racing is planting 250 trees annually in order to help overcome the team’s impact on the environment. In a world where awareness of environmental impact is increasingly important, Axe Racing is proud to pioneer the idea in the sport of bobsleigh.
The team will have planted 1,000 trees by the Milan 2026 Winter Olympics which in their lifetime will remove between 2,500 and 3,700 tonnes of carbon Dioxide from the atmosphere. More than tripling the projected impact of the team over its Olympic campaign.
